Raj Kapoor, The Greatest Showman of Indian Cinema, was born on 14 December 1924 in Peshawar, During British India. He was popularly known as the Showman of Hindi Cinema now Bollywood Industry. He was the son of Prithviraj Kapoor one of the pioneer of Indian Cinema and his mother was RamSarani Mehra Kapoor. In this article we will learn about his full family details starting from his father to now his great-grandaugther. Everyone knows that Raj, was an great actor, director, producer, editor and a filmmaker. He was honoured by Padma Bhushan in 1971 and Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1988. He was the founder of R.K. Films. He mainly worked in Hindi Cinema. He was the most influential actors and greatest filmmakers of his time, His contribution to Indian Cinema is definitely unmatchable. He was the icon of India Cinema and was also referred as The Charlie Chaplin of Indian Cinema. Since, Childhood Raj was interested in films, and has a dream to become an actor. He went to Champion School in Mumbai, but later left to focus on his dream. According to reports, Raj Kapoor birth name was Shrishti Nath Kapoor, which was later changed by his father Prithviraj Kapoor, to Ranbir Raj Kapoor, but Raj was the one to remove his first name and he used his middle and last name as his full name, that name was later given to his grandson, the only son of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh and the only son of Raj Kapoor, Ranbir Raj Kapoor. 

Raj Kapoor was the eldest child of Prithviraj Kapoor. He had five more siblings, two of his brother passed away in their's childhood, So he had left with 3 more siblings, 2 brothers and 1 sister. His both brothers Shammi and Shashi Kapoor were also the great actors, unfortunately none of Raj, Shammi and Shashi alive today, but their contribution to Hindi Cinema truly incredible. His sister Urmila Sial was married to Industrialist, she also unfortunately passed away on 25 July 2001. Prithviraj Kapoor with his wife and four children, moved from Peshawar to Bombay for education and residence. During the early 1930s, his father move from city to city early in his career, they also went in Calcutta. So, Raj Kapoor got the opportunity to study in different schools, he also studied in Colonel Brown Cambridge School in Dera Doon, St Xavier's Collegiate School in Calcutta, and later in Campion School in Bombay.

Raj Kapoor's uncle was Trilok Kapoor, who was the younger brother of Prithviraj Kapoor, and also the cousin of Vijay Kapoor, the son of Trilok Kapoor. Raj Kapoor had also a family relationship with Surinder Kapoor, who was the father Anil Kapoor, Boney Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor. So, basically Surinder Kapoor was the cousin of his father Prithviraj Kapoor. Raj Kapoor have many extended family in the Hindi cinema. 

Raj Kapoor's wife was Krishna Raj Kapoor, they married on 12 May, 1946. Krishna Malhotra (Krishna Raj Kapoor) was the first cousin of Prithviraj Kapoor, at the time of their's marraige, Krishna was 15 years old and Raj was 21 years old. They had five children, five children, two daughters and three sons. His son Randhir Kapoor was born on 15 February 1947, Rishi Kapoor was born on 4 September 1952, Raj Kapoor was born on 25 August 1962, His daughter Ritu Nanda was born on 30 October 1948, and His eldest daughter is Reema Jain. Rishi Kapoor, Rajiv Kapoor and Ritu Nanda, all these three children of Raj Kapoor passed away, Randhir Kapoor and Reema Jain is alive. Raj Kapoor has now huge family members. His first grandchildren is actress Karisma Kapoor, daughter of Randhir and Babita Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor also the granddaughter of him again the daughter Randhir and Babita Kapoor. Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni is the children of Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh Kapoor and the grandchildren of Raj Kapoor, and Ranbir is the only grandson of him. Rajiv did marraige but he later took divorce, he didn't had any children. His eldest daughter Ritu Nanda, was married to Rajan Nanda, Rajan was an Industrialist, Rajan and Ritu had two children son Nikhil Nanda and daughter Nitasha Nanda, Nikhil is married to Shweta Bachchan, the only daughter of Amitabh Bachchan. Raj Kapoor's youngest daughter is Rima Kapoor Jain, who's husband is Manoj Jain a investment banker. The have two children Armaan Jain, Aadar Jain.
