Jaya Bachchan was born on 9 April 1948 in Jabalpur, Berar, India at the present-day Madhya Pradesh India. She is famous Indian actress and wife of the 'Angry Young Man of India Cinema' Amitabh Bachchan. Before marriage she was well known as Jaya Bhaduri and also she was one of the highest-paid actresses of her time of 1970s - 1980s era. She is also active in Politics. Jaya Bachchan has served as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha since 2004, and she is aligned with Samajwadi Party. Jaya Bachchan was born into a Bengali family as Jaya Bhaduri on 9 April 1948. She is now 78 years old. Her father name was Tarun Kumar Bhaduri, who was a well-known journalist, poet and a author. Her mother name was Indira. Jaya has two sisters, Rita and Nita. She studied from St. Josheph's Convent School, Bhopal and also from Loreto College, Kolkata.
