Randhir Kapoor is an Indian actor, film producer and also a director. He is the elder son famous hindi cinema a actor and filmmaker Raj Kapoor. Randhir was born on 15 February 1947 in Bombay present day Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He is now 78 Years Old. He first appeared in cinema as a child artist in the film 'Shree 420' released in 1955 and also he appeared as child artist in 'Do Ustaad' which was released in 1959. 1969, he became a assistant director for the film 'Jhuk Gaya Aasman' released in 1968 starring Rajendra Kumar. In 1971 Kapoor made his acting debut and directorial debut with the 'Kal Aaj aur Kal' which also starred his wife Babita Kapoor, father Raj Kapoor and grand father Prithviraj Kapoor. This film was produced under R.K Banner and was a average success movie of that time.
After his successful debut, In 1971 Kapoor has acted in three consecutive hit films in the same year and the names or titles of the films are as follows Jeet, Raampur Ka Laksham, and Jawani Diwani and the interesting fact about Jawani Diwani was that it was one of the biggest hit film of 1971. In his film Raampur Ka Laksham the other co-starred were actress Rekha and actor Shatrughan Sinha who also represented by the name 'Shotgun' by his fans. Raampur Ka Laksham was directed by one the biggest director of hindi of that by Manmohan Desai and the musy given by R.D. Burman. In his film Jeet Randhir Kapoor was paired with his wife Babita Kapoor and the film Jeet was the remake of the Tamil film and the name of the film is En Annan. He is given many hits and some flops movies in terms of commercial success in his career. But he is consider as the best hero of all time especially of 1970s era.
Randhir had four siblings, he is the elder brother of actor Rishi Kapoor & Rajiv Kapoor and his sister are Ritu Nanda and Rima Jain, unfortunately in the 5 children of Raj Kapoor's three has passed away, Randhir elder sister Ritu and younger brothers Rishi and Rajiv Kapoor passed away few years back. His mother was Krishna Raj Kapoor. Randhir belongs to Kapoor Family of cinema, which is also known as the first family of hindi cinema. He married to actress Babita Shivdasani in 1971 and the couple has two daughters both famous actress Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. He was last seen acting in movies in 2014 released Super Nani and he played the role of R.K. Bhatia.
